Fern, yes, I'm a big fan of responding thoughtfully rather than reacting off the top of our heads. What would the world look like if we counted to 10 before we opened our mouths to share a piece of our minds (that we really can't afford to lose) ...
Ah the 10 second rule! Such a good point. Imagine how often we’d avoid having interaction regrets and wishing we hadn’t said something and wanting to take it back!
Fern, I love reading your reflections and powerful stories. I am inspired by your wise encouragement!
I did find myself reflecting on the voices of value that I tend to struggle with. While you look at the internal struggles, I also find myself wrestling with the social or worlds voice of values on my life; particularly as a disabled person. With socially growing and evolving receptions around euthanasia, a decaying healthcare system, and rising poverty levels… It’s hard to see a “hopeful“ voice towards the value of disabled people in community. Just a personal battle.
As to your question of what to write on… There should be a category for “All of the above”! 🙂
Erik. Thank you for your note and for sharing. That is a long list of big, overwhelming messages and influences to have to wade through while also balancing the need to protect your heart and uncover hope for the journey through it. I hear your heart and imagine that it must be very challenging and disappointing on some days. I am glad you are one of the much-needed voices that can make a difference in our world.
Thanks so much for your post. It gave me a new insight to the difference between vulnerable and vulnerability as well as the fact that I tend to overreact versus respond to situations. Your insight to becoming resilient has provided me with new ideas to preparing for storms that will come my way.
Ah, great reflections. Thank you for sharing. I believe you are in good company, I think many of us easily overreact – we are human! We are all learning to find finding new ways that are helpful that is why being in community is so helpful and healing. We are all on that transformation journey.
Thanks for sharing your wisdom and encouragement, Fern!
So glad you like it Laura. I appreciate your words!!

Thanks Kimberly. Glad you like it! Thanks for your comment❤️
